10/3 Once again.....check the post below...we don't know why the computer is doing this.

Well, it is not snowing, but it is very cold and rainy. We woke up around 5:30 and left around 9:30. (Coby needed plenty of time to get ready)

We were prompted on the way over to Baby House #2 on the things to expect and our interiew with the Dr. Once we arrived, we had to put these slip covers on over our shoes because of the rain. With Coby having size 14 shoes, the covers barely went on over his shoes. It was pretty funny.

Our first impression of the home was that it was very clean, and the colors were very bright and happy. There were lots of windows and pictures painted on the walls and lots of care takers walking around. It seemed like a very busy place. We had our appointment with the Directior and the Dr. and got all the info. we needed for our boy.

And then...guess who walked in the room.....a little angel! We thought we were going to meet him in the play room, but the door opened and he walked in. As cute as ever! He was clean, well dressed and had new shoes on. They put him down in front of Coby and he looked up at him and gave him the biggest smile. He eventually walked up to me and I picked him up and we left the Directors office and went in a play room. Everyone left and it was just the 3 of us.

We snapped pictures, made videos and played with him. He was so excited and happy and a little shy as well. He didn't mind one bit being in there with the 2 of us alone. We brought him a little stuffed animal and he loved it, but he really loved to play with balls. So we got some out for him and he loved it. It was so amazing to be in there with him and think that this could be our little one. Coby and I completely felt at peace and I had no tears!! We just played with him and loved on him for about an hour.

And then, he began to yawn. One and then two and then the head started to go and I picked him up and held him like a little baby and rocked him back and forth until he went out. He was holding his little toy car that we brought him in one hand, and his stuffed animal in the other. He seemed so small once he was asleep, but oh how perfect!

After about 5 minutes, I gave him to Coby and he held him as he slept. We just sat there in the middle of this beautiful room filled with every imaginable toy that a child needs and held our little one. He just seemed so content to be in Coby's arms and sleeping. It felt like 100 degrees in the room and he was sweating like crazy, but still slept!

The Dr. and Natasha walked in and looked at Coby in a chair in the middle of this room holding our little one, and me sitting on the floor in front of them and they smiled and started to mutter things back and forth in a tender voice. I think the scene that they walked in on made them very happy. Natasha asked Coby if he wanted to go put him in his bed, but the Dr. said we had to wake him up because he needed to eat. So Coby lifted him up and let me tell you, I have never seen a baby wake up so quickly and so happy as he did. He sat up and half his hair was plastered to the side of his head all sweaty and the other half still perfect. The Dr. took him and left and we then went to visit with the Director and Dr. one more time.

As we left, we felt very excited and good about this little one. Maybe all our questions have not been answered and maybe tomorrow might be different then today, but this was definitely a wonderful day from God! He heard our prayers and gave us a day I know neither one of us will ever forget. I know that I don't believe in 'luck' but they say that when it rains on your wedding day, that is a sign of good luck. Well, maybe today was a good day. It rained on the day we met our little boy.

We go tomorrow to petition to adopt and then we get to visit with him again and then Natasha is going to take us out for a little shopping. (any requests??) We will write more tomorrow and would love to hear from you all!!

Good night and Good morning to y'all!

Love,
Brandy and Coby

Coby, your post has done so much for Russian tourism! (Just remember me at Casino Night... what's that smell? Braised lamb shank?)

Hey Kids (and I mean all three of you,)

I was so happy to read your wonderful experience with the baby. you brought tears of joy and happiness to my eyes when I read your first visit with the baby. I could picture the scene the doctor and Natalia saw when they came into the room. Just think, before long you will be doing that in your own home. keep making these memories and send pictures when you can. Looking forward to reading more of your experience.
I bought the cutes outfit and some fun t-shirts for Neil from Hawaii. You will love them.
Much love, Safta.

Brandy & Coby, We read about the trip, Sunday afternoon, at Wes & Silvia's. It was our lunch entertaiment, great fun. Now it is Monday afternoon, 2:oo PM or so, you were covered in prayer this morning at my BSF---and there are no words to express my joy as I hurried home and read of the first meeting of your little one. I am waiting for your next visit up-date. Coby, how good that he was not afraid of a man, another blessing. Enjoy, all parts of this time. Love & a big hug, Mom
& Dad

Coby & Brandy, It is Tues.afternoon. So happy your second visit went well. Yes, we take lots for granted--cars that are normal size--- Why don't they arrange your visit later-earlier? Or well, not long till your can set your own nap time. Glad he likes the different things (blanket) that you are giving him.
Praying that all will continue to go smoothly...Can you send E-mail? or not? Are those shoe covers called goloshes? You know like my grandma used to use?? Have you tried real russian food? hope so.
Better end, miss you both, praying for you all-As God procted the new little family in Matt 2-he will proctect your family.

I look forward to your blogs everyday. They definitly make me laugh. We all sit around the computer laughing histarically at the thought of Coby hitting his head on the way out of the plane, and many other funny stories you have told. I definitly had to wipe the tears when I read about your first meeting. I can just picture him walking up to you with a big smile. I will be thinking about you as you are traveling home. We love you and can't wait to talk to you when you are back in Nashville.
